Dr. Yang is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of British Columbia and a Vascular Surgeon at Kelowna General Hospital. He is experienced in managing all vascular pathologies with medical therapy as well as open and complex endovascular surgeries. He has special research interest in surgical education and quality improvement.

Dr. Yang completed his Bachelor’s and Doctorate degrees in Physiology at the University of British Columbia with a focus in endocrinology and diabetes. He then completed his medical training at the University of Toronto before returning to Vancouver for his residency training in Vascular Surgery. Dr. Yang has obtained additional training in Vascular Labs from the Oregon Health and Science University and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.

Dr. Yang is the Surgeon Champion for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program at Kelowna General Hospital. He is also the site lead for postgraduate education in Vascular Surgery. He serves on the executive committee for the Canadian Society of Vascular Surgery. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, movies and spending time with his family.
