Vancouver General Hospital


Vancouver General Hospital(VGH) is a Level one trauma center and among the largest hospitals in Canada. VGH hosts a variety of tertiary services for adult patients with close to half of the patients being referred from outside the Greater Vancouver Area. With six staff vascular surgeons and a dedicated vascular step-down unit, VGH is the main training site for UBC vascular residents.

St. Paul’s Hospital


Founded in 1894, St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH) is the oldest institution in the Providence Health Care authority with more than 400 beds. SPH hosts the largest provincial dialysis program and therefore the busiest dialysis access team. The vascular surgeons work closely with interventional radiologists to train residents in both open and endovascular therapies. The unique radiofrequency ablation program provides residents a full spectrum of vascular care.

Kelowna General Hospital


Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is one of the largest hospitals in Western Canada housing more than 700 beds. It has the only cardiac and coronary angioplasty site outside of the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. It also houses robust 24/7 stroke, neurovascular and interventional radiology programs. Referrals to KGH spans beyond the Okanagan and the interiors from northern BC to the Alberta boundary. In this environment, the staff vascular surgeons work closely together performing a wide range of open and endovascular treatments from head to toe in their dedicated hybrid OR suite.

Royal Jubilee Hospital


As the only vascular centre on Vancouver Island, this 500-bed hospital receives referrals from coastal BC and Yukon. The vascular surgeons offer all spectrums of open and endovascular therapy as well as venous treatments.

Royal Columbian Hospital


Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) is among the oldest hospitals in British Columbia and one of the busiest in Fraser Health. It is located in New Westminster overlooking the Fraser River.
